It’s overall balance and compact design makes it a great fit for hunting in a tree stand or in a ground blind. It’s easy to hang from a bow hanger or hook while in a tree stand as well which is something that’s key to have when picking it up off a bow hanger silently to get a shot. “I got my hands on the Viper 430 before it was released to the public. I got it set up and sighted-in on Nov. 11 and moved in to hunt a target buck the following morning. After a long standoff with the buck, he finally gave me a brief moment to strike.
The narrow profile was great for quietly maneuvering around my treestand/self-filming setup to line up the shot. The buck was walking when I shot, so the arrow speed definitely helped me send it home!

No pun intended on the title! This crossbow has all the things I’ve looked for in a crossbow at a solid price point compared to others I have looked into! I upgraded from the Viper S400 and am really impressed with the upgrades, especially the new scope. LOVE the new rangemaster 100, makes it easy to adjust when aiming in the field. The safety aspects of this bow made a huge impact on my decision as well! The AcuSlide Cocking and Decocking system is the BEST on the market and makes me feel comfortable not only when I am shooting but when I am teaching new shooters how to use a crossbow. The trigger takes a few shots to get used to but after practicing with it my accuracy was spot on. All around I would highly recommend this bow. It would make a great family bow.. easy for adults and children to use (adult supervision advised). PLUS I love supporting Made in America companies. I hunt Hog, Whitetail Deer.

This bow is simply amazing. Accurate, fast, compact, what more could you want. Will literally stack arrows at any range. My only gripe is with the scope, the dots are hard to see, and basically have to use the illumination any time you shoot it and the first 3 dots are so close together, they almost blend together. I got the Tenpoint Viper and love how accurate it is and took my first buck ever with it this year in PA from 50 yds and made an absolute perfect shot, I never thought twice about the shot and had extreme confidence from that long distance it would hit where I was aiming. This crossbow is a pleasure to hunt with. It’s light and compact which makes a huge difference when you’re saddle hunting. The ease and quietness of cocking and uncocking with out having to carry a block or decocking bolt is another great advantage. The accu slide is easy to use, my 10 year old has no problem using it. The fact that you can stop while doing both without fear of spooking game or busting your knuckles is also great. It’s also a tack driver and consistent using the center punch bolts. The safety is perfectly located and easy to find. Love the over all appearance of it as well, I always get comments on it. Carries great with a sling or strapped into my backpack. My only gripe is that I didn’t buy it sooner. I hunt Hog, Turkey, Whitetail Deer.

I have had only experiences with Ten Point Crossbows. It started with my Father-In-Law having open heart surgery some 18 years ago. He could no longer use a Compound Bow so I extensively researched various crossbows and found Ten Point was top of the line. The cocking system on his Ten Point Titan was exactly what the doctor ordered. Fast forward about ten years and I decided to get my own crossbow. I only looked at Ten Point because I knew the quality was outstanding. I bought a Ten Point Crossbow for my own use. It was fast and accurate. In 2020 I decided to buy a new reverse limb crossbow for better shooting balance in my hands. I chose a Ten Point Vapor RS 470 and it is an amazing crossbow. I was using my Ten Point during this recently completed Whitetail Deer season when I shot my first ever deer with a Cross Bow and it was with my Ten Point Vapor. It wasn’t a trophy by any scoring standards but for my first Cross Bow kill it was a trophy to me! I hunt whitetail deer.

sighted my viper 430 in today, the trigger is light i love it, shooting the pro elite’ arrows it came with average weight with 100 grain tip is 408 gns., first 5 shots averaged 430 fps. after 10 to 12 shots it averaged 428 fps., uping the arrow weight to 430 gns. 417 fps. average. 454 grain arrow i got 408 fps. on average, this crossbow is very accurate as for the sound it’s pretty quite for a crossbow, upgraded from a excalibur grizzly shooting 290 fps., love my new viper 430 so far time will tell, but i’ll right another review when i get more shooting time in. i recamend this crossbow, customer service is exellent to. the only negative for me so far is wheni get about half way up it feels like more than 5lbs to cock it fully the closer ya get the harder it is, but may it’s because the cocking handle does’nt extend like the viper 400s, i also with wish ya could be able to release the reciever from the string like the viper 430. I hunt turkey, bear, and whitetail deer.

I’m a right hand shooter and it’s more intuitive for me to operate the safety from left side, plus I can quickly see if it’s in Fire or Safe position with less movement. I purchased the Viper 430 for competition target shooting and I could not be more satisfied with the performance. The crossbow is light weight, easy to load and extremely accurate. The scope comes dialed in from the factory, but I purposefully changed the settings and recentered the scope at 50 yds. It only took 6 bolts and after 3 months of weekly shooting, I have not had to make any major adjustments from there. The cocking/decocking mechanism is well designed, fairly quick and very quiet. I especially appreciate the crank brake safety feature where I can stop at any position and the crank holds its position. In my opinion, this crossbow is an exceptional value for the money.

Just got my first TenPoint crossbow. A Viper 430. Read the manual/literature that came with the bow. Mounted the scope at a comfortable eye relief. I applied TenPoint wax and lubricants according to the instructional video found at TenPoint’s website. Set my crossbow target at a random distance (later measured to be 18 yards) and shot my first bolt. I hit the 1-inch dot I was aiming at. Need I say more? I’m using 64+ year old eyes and I was sitting on steps with my left elbow resting on my left knee; otherwise holding freehand. Thanks to the folks at TenPoint. This is one bad machine.
