Nolan’s Video Review of the 2019 Ravin R26 Crossbow

The new for 2019 Ravin R26 is the shortest most compact crossbow on the market.  The R26 is 26 inches long and comes with a solid bridge front to back which makes it a structurally solid crossbow. The updated grip makes it very comfortable and accurate to shoot.  Boasting speeds of 400 FPS this small, compact crossbow packs a punch downrange.

The Ravin R26  Crossbow on the Range

Borkholder Archery has developed an 18″ 425 grain custom bolt for the Ravin R26 which keeps the arrow tip inside the end of the crossbow.  The factory bolts that come with the crossbow are 20″ 400 grain bolts that fire downrange at 400 FPS, but the 20″ shaft sticks past the end of the crossbow.  Borkholder’s custom bolts fire around 10 FPS slower than the factory bolts, but have greater kinetic energy downrange and better accuracy.

I purchase a Raven r26 and had borkholder sight it in for me. Out of the box I shot it’s driving tacks at 50 yards. Great product and quick service. I did have an issue with the quiver cover end which fell off when I pulled it out of the case. It wasn’t snapped together properly. Nothing a hammer couldn’t fix.

Measure Arrow Length - Carbon to Carbon

Why Equalizing the Weight of Non-Lighted Arrows is Important

When choosing Firenock lighted nocks you have an option use the weight match nock system.

There is roughly a 23 grain difference when adding Firenock lighted nocks. It can result in lower impacted points at distances of 30 yards and beyond, and also change your front of center percentages.

There is a simulated weight that attaches to your nock just the same as the lighted nock that will make all of the nocks weigh the same. This will ensure your arrows all fly the same.
