The Mission Sub-1 XR Crossbow, available in either black or new RealTree edge camo, is the fastest crossbow mission has ever made. It can boost speed 410 feet (ca. 125 m) per second. It features our benchmark fire control system that allows you to cock and decock the bow without having to shoot it off. Decocking the bow can be done with the press of a button, which makes it safer and easier to decock.
The XR is a subcompact crossbow at only 30.5 inches (ca. 77 cm) long and weighing only 7.6 pounds (3.45 kg). The width when cocked is 9.1 inches (ca. 23 cm) and un-cocked 12.5 inches (ca. 32 cm). The match grade trigger is set at 3 pounds (1.36 kg). The adjustable cheek piece that the XR is equipped with allows you to customize the fit to your specific shooting style. The back out system allows you to replace the string and cables with ease and also helps reduce the draw weight. The XR has peak precision utilizing controlled acceleration to achieve accuracy both horizontally and vertically up to 100 yards (91.44 m). The patented CNC machined rail eliminates vertical nock travel for ultimate accuracy.
Loading the bow is made easy with the two stage arrow retention finger while still providing adequate downward force. The removable silent draw system enhances accuracy by applying equal tension to either side of the bow string.

Simply put this is the best crossbow out there right now. All reviews and test Ive seen are absolutly true, this crossbow performs! My first crossbow was a sniper 370 which was good but not anywhere close to the same performance. The trigger on the sub 1xr is flawless and encourages accuracy, the best trigger on the market for a crossbow in my opinion. I think I was most impressed with how little amount of recoil it generates. Comparable to a BB gun and about as quiet too but certainly much more powerful of course. Only complaints Id say would be that it does take a lil muscle to cock it and rope hooks sometimes slide together mid-cock making it impossible to cock without relaxing the string back down and resetting hooks. I guess that could be avoided using the RSD system so not a big issue. I was also impressed with how quickly Borkholder got my bow to me and loving the free lighted mission 19″ bolts that came with my order!

There is no other crossbow that I would currently want to replace my XR. This thing is solid. I was concerned about cocking it at first but those worries are gone. I am close to 70, and this thing cocks with ease. I can do it sitting or standing. It was even easier when I added a stirrup. I have been shooting this thing for months now and it is dead on accurate. I live in a remote area and can’t just run a bow in every time it needs serviced or strings and cables attached. There are very few crossbows out there that allow you to do the service yourself. That was an important factor in me choosing this bow. If I lived 5 minutes from a pro shop, I might have picked up a Raven. But that and most other brands were ruled out after researching what it takes to service your own equipment – an expensive bow press. To say that I’m satisfied with this crossbow and it’s performance is an understatement. And I’ll throw in a plug for Borkholder. They are easy and knowledgeable people to work with. I will be a repeat customer!
